Considering the total money you spent for 71 months of playing, I really see no reason for complaining, after all it's only natural it's getting boring. Imagine how much money you would have wasted on other things during the time in last 71 months you've been online.

Well you could always dwg or shadow form yourself through DOA. That seems to be the main thing in GW nowadays. Lame ass skills.

Create a thread requesting experienced players for manly spike or trenchway whatever is used in that place, party search/PUG would be difficult to get that going.

have you finished the Wik and hearts of the north (that was pretty much solo)? Have you played every profession --all 10?
for me I am doing the zaishen stuff (pugging is an experience in itself)...and v'qing areas that I had not wanted to previous to them being offered for zquesting.
If you dont find the game interesting anymore....dont play it, no one is forcing you to play, there are plenty of other games out there as well as RL stuff. SO --do something else.

You could have stopped right there.
There are literally thousands upon thousands of video games for a multitude of platform out there. There are also literally thousands upon thousands of COMPLETELY FREE online games out there.
If GW is no longer floating your boat, you move on to something new... it's not like there aren't (say it with me now) thousands and thousands of titles to choose from.
Considering that ANet continues to release free content (WiK, HotN, WoC) for a B2P game without a monthly subscription AND still bothers to add other new content, tweaks, skill balances etc. says that the problem isn't that they're not adding to what's available - the problem is that it's not to your liking. Nothing wrong with that... no one is going to like everything. But there are a multitude of other games for you to choose from, and it's likely at least one of them is doing things you'd like... go play that.
There's no reason to force yourself to do things you don't enjoy, especially not for a game as cheap as GW is. You've played for 71 months? So basically, you spent $1/month for how many thousands of hours of entertainment? You've gotten your money's worth out of it... time to move on. Think back fondly on the fun you once had in GW, and then turn your attention to finding some new fun... believe me, it's not hard to find.

I see the OP did not mention JQ/FA and AB which are the best pvp formats in this game now.

The game is 71 months old and you're "amazed" that you find it boring now? The average replay value for most games is well under 100 hours.
The simple fact is, it's an old game. If your friends have quit and you're tired of pve and pvp, then play something else.
I just came back to the game after a 3 year break and I'm enjoying the 7 heroes addition. Been working on some vanquishing and playing with builds. I did the Guardian title back when you had to take some hench and had no interest in vanquishing at the time, but I'm actually having some fun with it now. Gives me something to do when I'm listening to the Howard Stern show.

Start a new Glee Cast in GW. Push for more emotes, but execute what you can with the tools possible. Tune us into an online internet-radio station to listen to you guys dance and sing to music. Pull flash mobs on the steps of LA, and other outposts at random. Rehearse in unpopulated districts with as much secrecy as possible, only at first, of course.
You'd need:
A manager (yourself)
A choreographer/organizer (your close confidant)
A dance cast (guildies)
71 months, and I bet you never thought of that.
Promote the arts. Even if it is the pop-culture.

I never understood why people came onto here and complained about a game not being fun. If GW isn't fun, then don't play it. It really is as simple as that.

I have pulled the flash mob in L.A. before, our alliance passed around a El Trapdoor tonic and was very entertaining. Guild Wars is the best when you take a break to try a new game then realize that game is kind of terrible or it's playable, but you get bored and go back to it once more.

Because they care about the game, if they didn't they would be silent and THAT's what you/Anet should care about
When people complain about the game its because they like the game and they wish it was better/longer/more pretty.
When people are quiet about the game is when you should be worried.
There are many mmos and other games out there as a good example of this.

He's complaining that the game is no longer fun for him because he has played it for so long. The obvious response is to play a different game or pick up a different hobby. Its that simple, and not something that you have to consult an online forum to realize.

I may not agree with you that the obvious thing to do is to ditch GW and go play a different game, but I can see why you would say that.
I was merely replying to the "why do people complain" statement.
As to the OP, I know how you feel but have you given it a chance?I mean don't bother with UW the way it is now its not about enjoyment anymore its only about the bling.
I have recently started vanquishing with purely hero team,I decided I'm almost entirely going to give up on actually make this a multiplayer game and just see if I can do everything with just heroes.
I have gotten tired of when I ask for groups for vanquishing that people with 6/8 player team being heroes asking me to join.If I wanted to do it with heroes I would do it myself, I'm not asking to simply finish the area I'm asking to have people to do it with, maybe we can talk while we do it...

That's what's clans for.
Because out of 8 people you might find in PUG, probably atleast 1-2 will be douchebag, and then you can expect rage, leaving, swearing etcs.
While, if you are in guild that's a fun one, and are simple enjoying the game (disclamer: don't think now that those guilds do some easy staff, did DoA with my guild and we had lot of fun doing it with heroes and such etc.), and then it's not hard to find a group to do anything. On evenings when I'm online and VQ, i usually have 2+ guidlies in any vq, don't care about area.

If you're not interested in GW2, I don't see a point in playing GW1 anymore. Clearly Anet has moved from it and is only making the game easier so their loyal GW1 players can have an advantage of getting GW1 weaponskins in GW2. Why do you think the 7 hero update was added? So people could get titles. Why do you think Drunkard was changed? So people could get GWAMM.
Meanwhile, I find the game more fun when I re-roll a character, but the hardest part about GW is trying to start doing something. I often find myself going "argh I want to get this title but I don't know if I want to start". There's a 10% chance I'll actually do something, and when I start, I don't stop. I didn't play GW seriously for about 2 weeks. Returned last night and maxed 2 titles fairly easily.
As far as PvP, you can blame the people that ruined it. It wasn't really Anet, it's just that people cheated, so the only way to really prevent that was to make it completely random, thus RA. RA would actually be pretty fun... if people didn't suck at the game and use it to try builds.

Fixed. People who play PvP seriously, by and large do so for its competitive nature, hence the thousands of threads crying about it being unbalanced. I am assuming that since the arenas you mentioned are not competitive at all, and in many ways are virtually PvE, its probably why he doesnt play them.
AB you spend 80% of the time running around from one skirmish to the next, much like a lot of pve. And JQ/FA you can actually win without even engaging the enemy players at all.... It could be argued that RA is also not competitive, which is pretty much true, but at least the aim of the arena is to actually kill the opposing players.

I don't mind the idiots, I have a pretty thick thin and mostly don't get bothered by the idiotics.
If two people are douchebags it doesn't bother me if its so bad I can simply close chat if they are the kind that over aggro I don't mind because often I am able to carry mi team.( it might not be me alone , but in some of those cases I feel if i wasn't there the team would have done something else and failed) , and another thing, I don't know what game you are you playing but I have never gotten douchebags that were that bad in normal play, I remember a few times long ago when doing FoW that I gotten 1 player that decided too bee an ass and ignore us and goes and aggros the bad group and we get wiped, but what happens after that is that we got back to town kick the guy get a new one and go for it again.
Rage when unfounded is stupid and can be ignored just like the swearing, again I have a thick skin but even when it gets really bad I can just ignore.
The idiots that leave in most cases shouldn't hurt you and you should still be able to do the objective.
Edit: I would do these things with my guild but my guild is A PvP guild and even that we aren't doing that much right now.

Do we really need another thread from someone describing how they don't like game anymore?
It's been said over and over and over. People play for different reasons and enjoy different things. If you like what is in GW, play. If you don't, move on. There's no secret fun thing that people do and not tell people. If you can't find what you're looking for in GW, it's because it's not there.

The game is six years old. It is to be expected that you'd get bored with after all that time. Not sure what you're expecting from the game.
Me? I tend to spend my time doing dungeon speed clears. I'm not sure why, to be honest; even when I get that rare drop, it just sits in storage because I can't be bothered to sell it. I have more money than I could ever need, but I haven't bought anything from another player in over a year.
I guess I still come on because, after several thousands of hours given to this game, I just can't quit.
